Touch ’n Go eWallet joins ShopBack; get cashback when you top-up your e-wallet

The next time you reload your Touch ’n Go (TNG) eWallet, you will receive cash back! Thanks to the partnership between ShopBack and Touch ’n Go eWallet, shoppers are now incentivised further to shop online, and shop smarter.

Touch ’n Go eWallet is ShopBack’s first e-wallet partner, and shoppers will enjoy several perks. Firstly, new TNG eWallet users who register and reload via the ShopBack app will receive a cashback of MYR10 (until 11 November) and MYR9 cashback from 11 November onwards; while existing users who top up their eWallet each month will get a one-time MYR3 cashback (minimum reload of MYR10).

ShopBack Malaysia is the first within the APAC countries to launch e-wallet as a new cashback category.

“Many ShopBack users have not started using e-wallet as the payment option for their online purchases with our partners i.e. Taobao and Lazada. Under this partnership, we’ll be supporting TNG Digital by providing cashback incentives and encouraging the usage of e-wallet via marketing campaigns. This is in line with the government’s recent move on promoting the adoption e-wallet payments in Malaysia through a digital stimulus announced during the tabling of Budget 2020, and we are confident that users will be able to adopt the trend quickly via our efforts,” said Eddy Han, country general manager of ShopBack Malaysia. 

Leading up to the massive 11.11 shopping festival, ShopBack will be offering unbeatable cashback deals such as up to 30 percent upsized cashback through more than 30 popular online stores such as Taboo, Lazada, Agoda, Shopee, Zalora, Booking.com, and Klook. ShopBack is also offering prizes worth over MYR100,000 from 4 November until 11 November 2019.

Also, during special hours on 11 November, Lazada will be providing double cashback via the ShopBack app. Here’s a list of offers you can expect during 11.11:

  • Taobao – up to 30% from 1-11 Nov
  • Lazada – double cashback – up to 20% from 6PM-8PM on 11 Nov
  • Zalora – up to 15% from 8-12 Nov
  • Nike – 15% on 11 Nov
  • Lenovo – 14% from 10-11 Nov
  • Booking.com – 9% from 8-11 Nov
  • Klook – up to 7.5% on 11 Nov

That’s not all. A new in-app game called “Cashback Troppers” will be available in the ShopBack app starting 4 November. Players are required to connect three or more icons to earn diamonds which will enable them to redeem rewards such as discount and free shipping vouchers. Rewards are sponsored by Lazada, Lenovo, Photobook Malaysia, Senheng, Sephora, Shopee, Under Armour, Watsons, and Zalora. 

Additionally, the Mega Draw Ticket will give users a chance to win attractive prizes including a MYR2,500 Sephora voucher, a MYR5,000 Senheng voucher, MYR8,000 worth of Dyson products, and the grand prize of MYR12,000 Agoda travel voucher.

Mega sales events like 11.11 have seen exponential sales growth numbers for platforms like Lazada, Shopee, and ShopBack. According to ShopBack, it has experienced 15x growth in transactions during mega sales days like 9.9 and 10.10 compared to the same period last year. In the last two months alone, ShopBack has given away over MYR7 million in cashback and it forecasts that it will reward users another MYR13 million in cashback in the coming months of November and December.
