The Samsung Gear S2 which was teased when I was at Unpacked New York and subsequently launched at IFA Berlin is now coming to Malaysia. The new Gear S2 is a departure from the previous form factor, now looking delicious with a circular design.
Powered by Samsung’s own Tizen OS, the Gear S2 has two different variants – the Gear S2 (sporty) and the Gear S2 classic. The classic has a more timeless design, with an elegant black finish with matching genuine leather band. For the rest of us, the Gear S2 is perfect on-the-go with its durable strap and overall minimal, modern design.
The circular design with an intuitive, custom UX and compatibility across many devices makes it a better smartwatch experience than it has been previously.
The Gear S2 is just 11.4mm thin, being inconspicuously light and compact on your wrist. The 1.2-inch circular display (360 x 360p @ 302PPI) offers vibrancy and clarity, even in bright sunlight. Under the hood is an optimized 1GHz dual-core processor that lets you multitask easily.

The unique rotating bezel is your way around the intuitive UI, alongside the physical Home and Back buttons on the right side of the watch.
Health and fitness tracking is a must-have feature on a smartwatch. The Gear S2 has a built-in heart rate sensor (tracks 24/7), accelerometer, gyro and pedometer to make sure your daily activity is tracked, and your fitness progress logged.
Battery life is claimed to be 2-3 days on a single charge. The smartwatch comes with a wireless charging dock.
The watch face can be customised, and apps can be added via your paired smartphone. Talking about smartphones, the Gear S2 plays nice with any Android 4.4 KitKat and above device.

The Gear S2 retails at MYR1,399 while the Gear S2 classic is available at MYR1,599. The Gear S2 comes in Dark Gray and Silver, while the Gear S2 is black.
