Lenovo launches smarter ThinkPads with 10th Gen Intel Core

Ahead of IFA Berlin 2019, Lenovo has announced its latest ThinkPad notebooks, headlined by the latest X1 Carbon running Intel’s 14nm 10th Generation “Comet Lake” CPUs; also marking Lenovo’s first commercial rollout of devices under Intel’s Project Athena programme. The updated commercial notebook line-up also includes the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, ThinkPad X390 and ThinkPad T490. Also announced are new affordable ThinkPad L13 and L13 Yoga devices, made for people who seek the ThinkPad but have shallower pockets.

The new portables are designed and engineered around ThinkPad’s core foundational principals—the ability to adapt to users, no matter where they are, or what they’re doing; to deliver smart, convenient and reliable benefits. Thanks to Intel’s 10th Gen platform, the new ThinkPads feature future proof LTE-A Wireless WAN and Wi-Fi 6, all-day battery life and power-packed performance.

ThinkPad also boast leading security with 

ThinkShield—Lenovo’s portfolio of secure hardware, software, and services. Adding to that, ThinkShutter coupled with a hybrid HD+IR camera protects users from prying eyes. Secure multi-factor authentication is possible with Windows Hello, alongside a match-on-host fingerprint reader.

The ThinkPad T490 is a workhorse that features a familiar ThinkPad chassis and houses up to an i7 10th Gen Intel Core processor. Typical of a ThinkPad, there’s a selection of display options to choose from including a 500-nit WQHD Dolby Vision panel, or a new, brighter 400-nit FHD display.

The T490 weighs just 1.5kg and measures 17.9mm thin. 

It features Dolby Audio Premium with two up-firing speakers and dual far-field mics for audio conferencing.

Stay productive with up to 15 hours of battery life, complemented by Rapid Charge that can take the notebook to 80 percent battery in an hour.

The device also offers global LTE-A Wireless WAN and Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) for lightning-fast connectivity.

Another dependable workhorse is the ThinkPad X390 coming in at just 16.5mm thin and weighing 1.27kg. It features a new 400-nit FHD display, Dolby Audio Premium with a pair of down-firing speakers and dual far-filed microphones.

Expect to enjoy up to 16.8 hours of productivity, and super fast charging speeds with Rapid Charge. 

Fast connectivity is also assured with onboard global LTE-A Wireless WAN.

For more mass market appeal and lighter wallets, the new ThinkPad L13 and L13 Yoga offer enterprise-grade performance and mobility with accessible prices. 

The ThinkPad L13 sports up to an i7 10th Gen Intel Core processor, a 300-nit FHD IPS Touch display, Dolby Audio Premium with a pair of down-firing speakers as well as up to 14 hours of battery life.

Meanwhile, the ThinkPad L13 Yoga offers similar performance in a more versatile package.
