Ahead of IFA Berlin 2019, Lenovo has announced its latest ThinkPad notebooks, headlined by the latest X1 Carbon running Intel’s 14nm 10th Generation “Comet Lake” CPUs; also marking Lenovo’s first commercial rollout of devices under Intel’s Project Athena programme. The updated commercial notebook line-up also includes the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, ThinkPad X390 and ThinkPad T490. Also announced are new affordable ThinkPad L13 and L13 Yoga devices, made for people who seek the ThinkPad but have shallower pockets.

The new line-up also offers vivid high-definition display up to 4K Dolby Vision; immersive Dolby Audio; `and the renowned, much-loved Thinkpad keyboard.
ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th gen
The flagship ThinkPad X1 Carbon series is a co-engineered product between Lenovo and Intel. It’s ultrathin at 14.9mm and weighs just 1kg, packing plenty into its Mil-Std chassis. Under the hood is up to a 6-core 10th Gen Intel Core processor, best-in-class connectivity with Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) and global LTE-A Wireless WAN. You’ll get amazing 18.5 hours of battery life, and when juice gets low, Rapid Charge can deliver 80 percent battery in just 60 minutes.
Take your pick from a selection of 14-inch display options available including the stunnign 500 nit, 10-bit, 4K Dolby Vision-certified panel, or a 400-nit FHD display.
Let’s not forget audio; the X1 Carbon gets a Dolby Atmos speaker system with two top-firing tweeters and two down-firing woofers for a more immersive soundscape. Also, four far-field microphones are built for conferencing and collaboration, or if you wish to call on Cortana.
ThinkPad X1 Yoga 4th Gen
With the ThinkPad X1 Yoga you get the best of both worlds—the absolute power and durability of the Thinkpad, fused with the versatility of the Lenovo Yoga. The 4th generation ThinkPad X1 Yoga is smaller, thinner and lighter, measuring just 15.5mm and tipping the scales at 1.4kg. You get a reinforced, precision-machined “Iron Grey” aluminium chassis which you know will stand the knocks of everyday life.
Under the hood is up to a 6-core 10th Gen Intel Core processor and global LTE-A Wireless WAN. It offers up to 18.3 hours of productivity, and also supports Rapid Charge for super fast charging.
There’s 14-inch Dolby Vision enabled display as well as Dolby Atmos Speaker System with far-field mics.
The multi-mode device is integrated with the ThinkPad Pen Pro that offers precise input for taking notes or drawing.
ThinkPad T490
The ThinkPad T490 is a workhorse that features a familiar ThinkPad chassis and houses up to an i7 10th Gen Intel Core processor. Typical of a ThinkPad, there’s a selection of display options to choose from including a 500-nit WQHD Dolby Vision panel, or a new, brighter 400-nit FHD display.
The T490 weighs just 1.5kg and measures 17.9mm thin.
It features Dolby Audio Premium with two up-firing speakers and dual far-field mics for audio conferencing.
Stay productive with up to 15 hours of battery life, complemented by Rapid Charge that can take the notebook to 80 percent battery in an hour.
The device also offers global LTE-A Wireless WAN and Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) for lightning-fast connectivity.
ThinkPad X390
Another dependable workhorse is the ThinkPad X390 coming in at just 16.5mm thin and weighing 1.27kg. It features a new 400-nit FHD display, Dolby Audio Premium with a pair of down-firing speakers and dual far-filed microphones.
Expect to enjoy up to 16.8 hours of productivity, and super fast charging speeds with Rapid Charge.
Fast connectivity is also assured with onboard global LTE-A Wireless WAN.
ThinkPad L Series
For more mass market appeal and lighter wallets, the new ThinkPad L13 and L13 Yoga offer enterprise-grade performance and mobility with accessible prices.
The ThinkPad L13 sports up to an i7 10th Gen Intel Core processor, a 300-nit FHD IPS Touch display, Dolby Audio Premium with a pair of down-firing speakers as well as up to 14 hours of battery life.
Meanwhile, the ThinkPad L13 Yoga offers similar performance in a more versatile package.
