Wield your swords, arm yourselves with a shield, because epic battles in the Kingdom of Knighton are about to begin. LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS, the latest collection from our favourite block makers, is now here in Malaysia. The unique collection marks the first time LEGO is merging the physical world with digital game play.
Kicking off the LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS ACADEMY event at Mid Valley Megamall over the weekend, kids and parents alike can experience the world of Knighton from now till 20 March 2016.
The Kingdom of Knighton you say?
Here’s a quick synopsis of the futuristic, high-tech world of the Kingdom of Knighton. The story follows five young nights in their quest to battle the baddies – the royal court’s evil jester Jestro; his sidekick, the Book of Monsters; and their Lava Monster Army.
My favourite character is sword-wielding Clay Moorington, who leads his band of knights – alpha superstar Lance Richmond; hipster Aaron Fox; a princess Macy Halbert; and a giant, Axl. Not without the wise tutelage and mentorship of the Great Digital Wizard, Merlok 2.0.
What’s different with LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS?
For the first time ever, LEGO has embarked into the digital and virtual world. No longer is the LEGO experience as we know it merely shuffling and building physical blocks. LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS literally comes to life through 17 building sets, coupled with an epic 20-episode animated TV series and a free-to-download-and-play digital gaming app.
The experience is far-reaching, with budding squires able to choose from an arsenal of battle gear and activate NEXO Powers to grow into full-fledged knights.
You can download as many as 170 unique NEXO Knights powers, depicted as knight shields. These shields are scattered across physical and digital forms including in building sets, print ads, books, comics and even the new LEGO NEXO Knights animated TV series. The LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS: MERLOK 2.0 app available via the Apple App Store and Google Play is the key to ‘powering up.’
