Quirky pop star Lady Gaga is set to serenade fellow earthlings (and possibly nearby aliens) from space. She will be blasting off into outer space in 2015 on a Virgin Galactic ship.
Far-fetched at this point as it may sound, Lady Gaga will become the first ever celebrity to sing in space. Her stint will reportedly be coinciding with the Zero G Colony tech festival in New Mexico.
Her foray into the depths of space will require some training in terms acclimatisation, of course.
Virgin Galactic is part of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group which plans to provide suborbital spaceflights to space tourists, suborbital launches for space science missions, and orbital launches of small satellites. In the future, Virgin Galactic hopes to offer orbital human spaceflights. Virgin Galactic’s spacecraft is launched from a ‘mothership’ dubbed the White Knight Two, giving the spacecraft ‘SpaceShipTwo’ more initial speed, altitude and re-usability compared to conventional spacecraft launched from the ground.
Question is: will aliens go gaga over Earth’s superstar? Or will they think she’s too out-of-this-world?
