Some things are better small. And this compact gadget from Xiaomi is guaranteed to leave you cleaner and refreshed – ZHIBAI Electric Shaver Razor.
Xiaomi may be renowned for its smartphones, but it also has hands in a wide range of other segments – connected or otherwise. Its Mi ecosystem of products includes rice cookers, electric bikes, robot vacuums, luggage, smart lamps and so much more.
The beauty about Xiaomi is that it not only design, builds and markets its own products, but also helps homegrown brands get discovered and commercialised.
You may be already familiar with Xiaomi’s Mijia line of cameras: dashcam, 360-degree camera, security cameras, just to name a few. Mijia is one of Xiaomi’s growing number of partners that sells products under the Xiaomi umbrella.
Xiaomi also has a crowdfunding platform – home.mi.com/crowdfunding where you can back ideas you want to see commercialised. Yes, just like Kickstarter. The breadth of products is amazing, and you’ll find anything from outdoor equipment, clothing, selfie sticks to furniture, and more.
Now that you’ve got a primer, let’s talk about ZHIBAI.
Like Mijia, ZHIBAI is one of Xiaomi’s partners that produces electronic products. Its latest gadget is the third electric shaver in Xiaomi’s portfolio, the initial ones being the Mijia Portable Electric Shaver and Mijia Electric Shaver 360 Float Shaver.
The ZHIBAI Electric Shaver Razor is undoubtedly the most compact in the Xiaomi line-up. It measures just 10 x 10 x 8cm and weighs just 86.5g.
The durable metal housing is IPX7 rated, so you can shave away in the shower. It will withstand immersion in water of up to 1m for 30 minutes.
The razor uses a specially-designed rotary engine (no, not Wankel, silly) based on German technology, capable of an incredible 8,500rpm with a high torque of 180g/cm.
It’s equipped with two shaving heads with blades from Japanese steel by Toyota. Expect razor-sharp performance and ultra-quiet operation.
Juice is supplied by two built-in 450mAh batteries that provides up to 45 minutes of use. To charge, it uses a USB Type-C port. Unfortunately, there’s no fast charging but a full charge will give you enough juice to last up to 30 days. There’s a low battery indicator, so you’ll know when it’s time to get it plugged in.
Pricing and availability
The ZHIBAI Electric Shaver Razor is not officially sold at Mi Stores here in Malaysia but you can pick it up from online retailers. And it’s pretty affordable too, at around MYR99 (originally sold at CNY99).
You can buy the Xiaomi ZHIBAI Electric Shaver Razor from Shopee.
