Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is now swim-proof

Alongside the gargantuan Mi Max 3, Xiaomi also announced its latest wearable – the Mi Band 3, for Malaysian consumers. The fitness band retains its sleek, minimalist unibody design but gains one useful feature – 5 ATM water resistance.

This means you can take it for a swim. Not bad for a wearable that costs under MYR150.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3The Mi Band 3 features a 0.78-inch OLED display that can now display content of messages. It can of course display basic data like time, date and steps you’ve taken.

The touch button at the bottom of the screen acts as a home button, and can also be used to clear notifications or measuring the heart rate.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3The band also gains new features like a built-in stopwatch, a phone locating function, and an independent vibrating alarm function that works even when your connected smartphone is turned off.

The Mi Band 3 is paired to a smartphone via the Mi Fit app which displays real-time workout stats, as well as historical data and analysis on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

The band will work with phones running Android 4.4 and above, or iPhone running iOS 9 and above.

Xiaomi claims the band will last for 20 days on standby mode¸ through its 110mAh battery.

The Mi Band 3 retails for MYR129 and will be available at all Authorised Mi Stores, Lazada, Shopee starting from 27 September 2018.
