Alongside the gargantuan Mi Max 3, Xiaomi also announced its latest wearable – the Mi Band 3, for Malaysian consumers. The fitness band retains its sleek, minimalist unibody design but gains one useful feature – 5 ATM water resistance.
This means you can take it for a swim. Not bad for a wearable that costs under MYR150.
The Mi Band 3 features a 0.78-inch OLED display that can now display content of messages. It can of course display basic data like time, date and steps you’ve taken.
Navigating the band is easy – swipe up and down to scroll through menu items; left and right for more options.
The touch button at the bottom of the screen acts as a home button, and can also be used to clear notifications or measuring the heart rate.
The band also gains new features like a built-in stopwatch, a phone locating function, and an independent vibrating alarm function that works even when your connected smartphone is turned off.
The Mi Band 3 is paired to a smartphone via the Mi Fit app which displays real-time workout stats, as well as historical data and analysis on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
The band will work with phones running Android 4.4 and above, or iPhone running iOS 9 and above.
Xiaomi claims the band will last for 20 days on standby mode¸ through its 110mAh battery.
