Western Digital Corp (WDC) has just unwrapped the new WD My Passport SSD—blazing fast NVMe-based external storage packaged in a slim, compact metal design. The palm-sized drive is offered in capacities of up to 2TB.
WD says its new portable drive is twice as fast as the previous generation, delivering read speeds of up to 1050MB/s and write speeds of up to 1000MB/s.
The bold metal design is stylish and durable, offered in a range of colours including Gray, Blue, Red, and Gold. It boasts shock and vibration resistance as well as drop resistance of up to 1.98m.
Your data is always secure and protected with 256-bit AES hardware encryption while WD Discovery software makes it easy to back up your files to the drive or a cloud service.
In terms of connectivity, it features USB 3.2 Gen-2 technology (USB SuperSpeed 10Gbps) and comes bundled with a USB-C cable and a USB-A adapter in the box.
