Transcend MTS800 is a 1TB M.2 SSD for ultraportables, now in Malaysia

Transcend MTS800

There’s a new high-performance storage solution for ultraportables in town – the Transcend MTS800 M.2 SSD, available in up to 1TB of storage. The MTS800 features high-quality MLC NAND flash that’s built-in with protective technologies like Global Wear-levelling, Advanced Garbage Collection, and Device Sleep Mode.

The MTS800 utilises next-generation SATA III 6Gb/s interface, delivering sequential read/write performance of up to 560MB/s and 460MB/s respectively.

Available in capacities ranging from 32GB to 1TB, the MTS800 also feature a host of protective technology. This includes Error Correction Code (ECC), that helps detect and correct potential transfer errors. Next, there’s Device Sleep Mode to reduce power consumption and shorten response time upon wake-up from Sleep/Hibernate mode. The S.M.A.R.T function monitors SSD health.

Other standard mechanisms like Intelligent Block Management and Wear-levelling algorithm protect data integrity, and prolongs SSD lifespan.

The MTS series supports Intel Smart Response Technology (ISRT) – where the SSD is used as a cache between hard disk and CPU, to memorise apps and files that are most frequently accessed/used.

This enables the hard drive to have more storage, as well as improve overall efficiency.
