“Saturday Night Live” Comes to Asia Exclusively on Comedy Central Asia

Critically-acclaimed late night comedy showcase, “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) will debut on Comedy Central Asia, the first and only all-comedy network in Asia. SNL is licensed from Broadway Video Enterprises, and the 39th season of the show will make its Asian debut starting October 5, every Saturday at 9pm (TH), 10pm (SIN/PHIL) and 11pm (MAL).

SNL is the longest running late night comedy sketch show in history. In its three decade history, the show has picked up 36 Emmy Awards and now holds the title for the most nominated TV show in Emmy history, with a whopping 173 nominations. It also has the distinction of being nominated for the prestigious George Foster Peabody Awards.

SNL has been a platform for icons in film, television, music and sports including Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Radiohead, Channing Tatum, Emma Stone and breakout musical acts like Lana Del Rey and Bruno Mars, just to name a few.

The award-winning show encompasses a wide variety of comedy-genres such as talkshow, standup comedy, animation, live-action sitcom, sketch-comedy, physical and gag that is designed specifically for Asian viewers.
