The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro officially goes on sale in the Malaysian market today. Consumers can pick up the devices direct from Huawei stores, authorised Huawei resellers, as well as telco partners. Early birds who purchase during the Huawei roadshows happening today till Sunday stand to take home freebies worth more than MYR999. However, if you prefer to buy it through a telco, Maxis has a great proposition for you.
The green telco is offering the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro for just MYR1. A shocker? Not really. Maxis has been offering devices and more for MYR1 for a while now, tied closely to its MaxisONE plans.
Similarly, with the two new photography-centric devices from Huawei, Maxis is offering them for almost nothing. Where’s the catch, you ask?
So, there are two options for the MYR1 deal.
MYR1 with MaxisONE
Firstly, you can get the Huawei P20 for MYR1 when you sign up for a new MaxisONE Plan with 1 MaxisONE Share Line. This is open only for the MaxisONE Plan 188 which gives you 60GB of all-day data, unlimited calls & texts and up to four Share Lines.
The additional Share Line is mandatory for the offer, and this costs MYR48 per month. In total, you’ll be looking at a MYR236 monthly commitment for 24 months.
MYR1 with MaxisONE Prime
The other option is to get the Huawei P20 Pro for MYR1 with a MaxisONE Prime plan. The MaxisONE Prime plan is a unique all-in-one plan that combines a MaxisONE Plan 188 with a MaxisONE Home subscription (up to 100Mbps). The plan gives you endless data for your home and mobile, with uninterrupted home internet thanks to a 4G backup.
A MaxisONE Prime plan with a 50Mbps Home Fibre connection will set you back MYR367 per month. Note that you’re also looking at a 24-month commitment.
Normal Contract
Alternatively, you can also own the Huawei P20 or P20 Pro with a Normal Contract: either a MaxisONE Plan 158 or MaxisONE Plan 128. The device price for the P20 is MYR1,599 and MYR1,899 respectively.
The P20 Pro on the other hand is offered across MOP 188, MOP 158 and MOP 128 plans with device prices from MYR1,999, MYR2,299 and MYR2,599.
The Zerolution route
A final option is via Zerolution, the groundbreaking all-in-one mobile and device plan. You can own the P20 from MYR60 per month with MOP 188, MYR75 per month with MOP 158 or MYR90 per month with MOP 128.
Meanwhile, the P20 Pro goes for MYR93 per month with MOP 188, MYR108 with MOP 158 and MYR123 with MOP 128.
