It’s not uncommon for brands to engage high profile brand ambassadors to be the face of their products and services. Whether you’re a sports brand like Adidas, or a technology brand like Lenovo, a popular figure who embodies the spirit of the brand can help engage with the audience and influence sales and brand affinity.
Picking the right personality is crucial of course. Ashton Kutcher was pretty cool for Lenovo back in 2013. But same can’t be said about Robert Downey, Jr. for HTC’s oddball campaign in the past. Always a fan of RDJ, regardless.
Huawei’s journey to be a premium and leading smartphone brand has been an interesting one. It partnered Leica to co-engineer the camera experience for its P-series and Mate series smartphones. It has buddied with colour specialists Pantone. It has sponsored high profile fashion events, sports teams, sports events and athletes.
The latest to A-list star to join Huawei’s ranks as brand ambassador is none other than “Wonder Woman” Gal Gadot.
In January, the stunning Israeli star was enlisted as Chief Experience Officer (CEO) at Huawei, to help shape the company’s brand experiences and to play an active role to help Huawei bring the best experiences to its customers.
Her role was first revealed at Huawei’s CES 2018 keynote where the brand launched its flagship Mate 10 Pro. In the video, she also taught the audience to properly pronounce “Wow Way.”
It’s not the first time Gadot has appeared in Huawei ads though, having started the journey with the Huawei P9.
And next, the Huawei P20 Pro. Gadot stars in the surrealistic and beautiful ad for its just-launched flagship device, and it’s a match made in heaven.
It’s beautifully shot, showcasing the different coloured devices including current favourite Twilight Purple.
