Lenovo recently announced its latest range of premium portables – the Lenovo Y410p, S410p Touch, S210 Touch and Miix 10 Tablet. The slowing global PC market last quarter did not stop the Chinese PC maker to grow with over 17.3% marketshare, an increase from 16.7% last quarter. Lenovo is currently the largest PC maker in the world, and also third in smart-connected devices (tablets, smartphones, PC products) (Gartner, IDC Data 2013).
During the media launch session at Lenovo Malaysia’s headquarters, Khoo Hung Chuan, Country General Manager of Lenovo Malaysia said, “Lenovo not only gained share in PCs, but continues to introduce more groundbreaking products, like the ones we are introducing today, to further make headway in our drive to be a PC Plus leader.”
Lenovo Y410p
The most premium of the lot, the new Lenovo Y410p is a multimedia powerhouse. The Y410p is powered by a 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ processor running at a base 2.4Ghz (up to 3.4Ghz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0), 8GB DDR3 SDRAM and NVIDIA GeForce GT750M graphics with 2GB DDR5 RAM.
The 14-inch HD WLED comes integrated with a 720p HD webcam and dual digital array microphones. The sturdy real-metal exterior also includes an interchangeable Ultrabay for instant upgrade – an additional graphics card with SLI is possible. The backlit AccuType keyboard is plus and should appeal to casual and hardcore gamers alike.
For optimum audio clarity, the Y410p features Dolby Home Theater technology.
The Y410p’s 6-cell Li-ion battery lasts up to 5 hours. The notebook runs Windows 8 and comes bundled with McAfee Internet Security, with a 3-year subscription.
Lenovo S410p Touch
The Lenovo S410p is an affordable Ultrabook to serve the needs of the everyday user. Thin and light, the 14-inch notebook sports a 4th Generation Intel Core processor (1.7Ghz i3-4010U or 1.6Ghz i5-4200U), 4GB DDR3 SDRAM and NVIDIA GeForce GT720M graphics with 2GB DDR3 RAM.
The S410p also packs a dual-layer DVD-RW drive, and 500GB SATA hard drive.
The affordable touch-enabled Ultrabook is packed wit hlong life battery, island-style keyboard and runs Windows 8.
Lenovo S210 Touch
The Lenovo S210 Touch brings quality and features at an affordable price. Integrated with a 3rd Generation Intel Core processor (i3-3217U @ 1.8Ghz), 4GB DDR3 SDRM, Intel HD graphics and 500GB SATA hard drive, the notebook also includes Dolby Advanced Audio system and the award-winning AccuType keyboard. The 11.6-inch HD WLED display is a multitouch display.
The S210 runs Windows 8 and comes bundled with McAffee Internet Security with a 3-year subscription e-card worth RM99.
Lenovo Miix 10 Tablet
Lenovo Miix 10 is Lenovo’s first ever Windows 8 tablet device, powered by the low-powered, high performance Intel Atom dual-core Z2760 processor with 2GB RAM. The tablet packs 64GB of flash storage, expandable to 64GB via microSD.
The tablet sports a 10.1-inch HD IPS display (1366×768 pixels) and comes integrated with a 1MP front HD camera. It is HSPA+ and Wi-Fi enabled, and also features Bluetooth 4.0, 3G-GPS, micro-USB, micro-HDMI and a 2-in1 audio jack.
The Miix 10 measures 265mm W x 173mm H x 10.1mm T, and weighs just 580g.
