Huawei is set to reveal its flagship Mate 30 series this coming Thursday, 19 September 2019. This new series is significant, and perhaps for the wrong reasons—it could be Huawei’s first devices to launch globally without official Google apps and services. Thanks, Mr Trump.
As usual, leading up to a product launch will mean leaks. Yet again, serial leakster @evleaks has leaked high-quality promo images of the Mate 30 series which will comprise the regular Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30 Lite, and possibly Mate 30 RS. Huawei’s long-standing partnership with Porsche Design continues with an enticing-looking Porsche Design variant.
Huawei Mate 30
The standard Huawei Mate 30 will feature a flat display with a tiny notch that houses what looks like a dual-front camera array. The rear, on the other hand, features a circular quad-camera array. No visible rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which means the Mate 30 series will likely incorporate an in-display fingerprint sensor and/or face authentication.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro
To differentiate itself from the regular Mate 30, the “Pro” version comes with a dual-curved design on the front and back. The curved display houses a bigger notch than the non-Pro version, possibly housing a 3D camera alongside dual-front cameras.
Porsche Design Huawei Mate 30 RS
For a more premium, standout look, the Porsche Design will certainly appeal. It comes with a leather wrapped back with a sleek vertical panel in the middle that houses the quad-camera array. It looks like it will be available in red or black.
Huawei Mate 30 Lite
Just like previously, the Mate 30 series will also come in an affordable, “Lite” version. The mid-range device is expected to feature a Kirin 810 processor and a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-camera system.
The new Huawei Mate 30 series will launch in Munich this Thursday, 19 September 2019. Stay tuned for details from the global launch.
