Samsung Galaxy A50s, A30s go live in Malaysia

Samsung Galaxy A50s A30s

The new Samsung Galaxy A50s and Galaxy A30s are now in Malaysia, featuring a snazzy contemporary look, uprated cameras, Infinity Display, large battery, and NFC. The Galaxy A30s is officially the most affordable Samsung device to support Samsung Pay.

I have to admit that the striking new designs, including a unique geometric pattern and holographic effect on the “glasstic” back, look good. The white Prism Crush White, is especially appealing, for me at least. Other colour ways include Prism Crush Black and Prism Crush Green.

Samsung is packing plenty into its new entries, including an on-screen fingerprint scanner and Samsung Pay (NFC).

The dynamic duo both boast a 4,000mAh battery that fast charges (15W) via USB-C.

The AI-based Game Booster ensures you get the best gaming experience while keeping the device sufficiently juiced.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A50s gets an octa-core Exynos 9610 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A30s features an octa-core Exynos 7904 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Storage for both devices can be expanded with microSD (up to 512GB) via its triple card slot.

In terms of display, both sport 6.4-inch displays but of varying resolutions. The Galaxy A50s gets a FHD+ (1080×2340) Super AMOLED Infinity-U Display, while the A30s features a HD+ (720x 1560) Super AMOLED Infinity-V Display.

In terms of optics, the Galaxy A50s packs a new 48MP f/2.0 main sensor coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide (123-degree) camera and a 5MP depth camera.

At the special media preview earlier, I had the chance to see the Super Steady feature (electronic image stabilisation) in action, and I must say it’s mighty impressive for a software-based solution.

On the Galaxy A30s, you’ll also get a triple camera setup: an improved 25MP f/1.7 main camera, 8MP ultra-wide, and 5MP depth sensor.

On the front of the Galaxy A50s and A30s is a 32MP f/2.0 selfie camera and 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera respectively.
