e-Tunai Rakyat e-wallets compared

Today marks the kick-off of the e-Tunai Rakyat programme where qualified Malaysians will get a MYR30 credit to their favourite e-wallet accounts. The three leading e-wallet players Touch ‘n Go eWallet, Grab and Boost are incentivising users further with additional perks. For your benefit, here’s a comparison of the perks being offered by the respective e-wallet providers.

Before that, be sure to verify (and upgrade) your e-wallet accounts. This post provides you with a step-by-step guide on how to verify and claim your e-Tunai Rakyat credit.

Touch ‘n Go eWallet

For verified users, if you make a claim with Touch ‘n Go eWallet, you’ll enjoy not only the MYR30 from the e-Tunai Rakyat programme, you’ll also get an additional MYR30 Touch ‘n Go eWallet cashback bonus* as well as two entries for a chance to win prizes worth up to MYR2 million.

*Limited to 1 million users; with a minimum value of MYR20 per transaction. 6x cashback valued at MYR5 is credited per transaction.

Grab

If you’re already a Grab user, this is rather enticing. Grab is offering up to MYR3,000 in discount vouchers and exclusive promos which include MYR5 off vouchers for familiar Grab services namely GrabCar, GrabFood; Hotlink, Baskin Robbins, Photobook, Coffee Bean, and more.

Note that the earlier you claim, the better, as the additional perk value reduces according to the number of claimants.

Boost

Boost is also dangling a huge carrot, offering a chance to “Shake” for cash worth up to MYR8,888.

The credit can’t be transferred to another person or be withdrawn as cash. It may take up to fiver days for your application to be verified and for the MYR30 to be credited to your e-wallet.

Ensure that you spend the MYR30 credit by 14 March 2020, or else the credit will be forfeited/expire.
