If you encountered problems verifying your account and claiming the MYR30 credit from Touch ‘n Go eWallet earlier today, you’re not alone. Countless users have experienced and complained about network connection issues since earlier this morning as the e-Tunai Rakyat programme officially kicked off.
The Touch ‘n Go eWallet system was overwhelmed by overcapacity as streams of users logged on to claim their e-Tunai Rakyat credit.
I personally encountered issues with the claiming process, although the Touch ‘n Go eWallet app itself appeared to be functioning as usual.
I reached out to Touch ‘n Go and they’re responded with an official statement:
Touch ’n Go eWallet is experiencing high traffic volume on our app due to the overwhelming response of e-Tunai Rakyat claims to-date.
As of 12pm, January 15, 2020, our app has increased its capacity to process the increasing user traffic and seeing a higher success rate in the number of claimants.
We truly appreciate your patience as our team is working effortlessly to assure that our app is back to its optimal efficiency phase in the quickest time possible.
Being the most rewarding eWallet, Touch ’n Go eWallet is thankful for the faith Malaysians have given in choosing to redeem their e-Tunai Rakyat with us.
We hope Malaysians will continue supporting us now and in the future as we bring value through the many rewarding campaigns planned for everyone on this cashless journey with us.
The system has stabilised and I’ve received reports from users that they’ve successfully made their claims via Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
Touch ‘n Go, like other participating e-wallet providers like Grab and Boost are offering additional perks for users who claim from them. For Touch ‘n Go, you’ll get an additional MYR30 cashback bonus as well as two entries to for a chance to win prizes worth up to MYR 2 million. Want to know how these e-wallet perks stack up?
