As much as I can’t contain my excitement (or what’s left of it) for the Galaxy Note9, Samsung can’t contain all the leaks of its flagship device before its 9 August launch. We’ve seen leaked images, specs, even a product intro video. This latest leak may top it all though. Official marketing material for the Galaxy Note9 is out in the wild, and it confirms pretty much everything we need to know about the upcoming device. Including the S Pen.

It’s been widely believed that the S Pen would integrate Bluetooth connectivity though no details have been available, until now. It’s now confirmed. The S Pen will indeed feature Bluetooth technology which will let you press a button to take a photo, control presentations and apps without the need to touch your phone. These are new enhancements to the venerable stylus.

With new found features, the S Pen hasn’t forgotten its roots. It’s still great for drawing, taking notes, sending Live messages as natural as with pen and paper. The S Pen offers 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

That aside, the Galaxy Note9 will feature a similar camera setup to the Galaxy S9+ – a 12MP dual-camera system on the rear with variable aperture (f/1.5 and f/2.4). The Note9 will have an improved, more intelligent camera. Coined Intelligent Camera, the Note9 will intelligently recognise objects and scenes, and will optimise colour settings to take the perfect picture. Sounds a lot like the AI-powered camera features on phones like the Huawei P20 Pro.

The leaked marketing material also mentioned Samsung DeX, a solution that transforms your Galaxy phone into a PC-like environment, this time minus a dock and via a single cable.

The rest you’ve probably already seen in the barrage of leaks – Exynos 8910 (or Snapdragon 845) chipset, 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 512GB of storage.

The device will integrate a larger 4,000mAh battery and will presumably run the latest Samsung Experience UI and Android Oreo.

Pre-orders are expected to be from 10 August onwards. As leaked, the Galaxy Note9 may be priced at MYR4,299 and MYR5,099 for the 128GB storage and 512GB storage models respectively.

Alongside the Galaxy Note9, Samsung may reveal a new Galaxy Watch and the new Samsung Wireless Charger Duo.

The Galaxy Note9 will be unpacked on 9 August 2018 in New York, at 11PM (MYT). Stay tuned for updates.
