MTV Asia, has announced the hunt for the first-ever MTV World Stage Insider, where the chosen candidate will get to the coolest ten-day ‘job’ to be part of the MTV social media team. Not your typical nine-to-five job mind you, where the awarded candidate will get to represent fans and introduce them to the MTV Experience from the inside using live updates, videos, tweets and pictures of MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2013. The once-in-a-lifetime experience for the candidate will also include an engagement fee worth US$10,000.
The exclusive campaign targets music fans aged 18 years and above, from Malaysia and around Southeast Asia. The candidates should already have an extended social presence (e.g. Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, blog) and ideally have experienced an MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia concert over the last four years.
The hunt for MTV World Stage Insider was launched through MTV Asia’s social channels and submissions will close on 19 August 2013 at 12pm. The chose one will be announced on 26 August, with the actual role commencement on 30 August till 9 September.
To enter, applicants are required to submit a creative social media resume in a video or blog entry to MTV, telling MTV what makes them the right candidate for the role. All videos must be no longer than two minutes. Submissions must be titled “Hunt for MTV World Stage Insider” and be tagged #worldstagemy and #insidews (with privacy settings set to public).
MTV Asia is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, and the hunt is in part to increase fan engagement with the brand.
Aside from the drool-inducing engagement fee, the MTV World Stage Inside will get to:
- “Takeover” MTV Asia social media channels – Twitter and Instagram
- Have their blog reposted on MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2013’s official site (how’s that to boost site traffic?)
- Get a ‘backstage pass’ to MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2013
- Connect the MTV Experience with fans
MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia will feature Robin Thicke, Far East Movement, EXO and Joe Flizzow, and will take place at Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon on Sunday, 8 September. A whopping live audience of 15,000 is expected to attend the much-anticipated event.
MTV World Stage is a global series that brings multi-genre talents to an audience of over 550 million households, across 154 countries worldwide. The Malaysia show is MTV’s first originally-produced MTV World Stage event globally, which started in 2009.
