Fresh from its strong showing at CES 2020, Acer Malaysia today announced a slew of new products for the Malaysian market, headlined by the new Acer Spin 3. The Taiwanese PC giant celebrates its 30th year in Malaysia this year, an eventful journey that has seen its equal share of challenges and triumphs, as well as ground-breaking innovation and cutting-edge design.
The Acer Spin 3 builds upon the success of the original 2018 Spin 3 which introduced a versatile thin-and-light form factor complemented with a stylus.
The new Acer Spin 3 is slimmer and comes with a durable 360-degree hinge that gives the notebook its multi-mode superpowers. Weighing just 1.5kg and measuring a svelte 16.9mm thin, the sleek, stylish aluminium chassis will fit comfortably into your messenger bag or backpack.
The top cover houses a 14-inch touchscreen Full HD IPS display with 7.82mm thin bezels, resulting in an impressive 78 percent screen-to-body-ratio.
The Acer Spin 3 introduces an improved Acer Active Stylus with EMR that uses Wacom AES (active electrostatic) technology, boasting 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. What’s cool is the the stylus can be stored in the storage dock on the notebook where it quick-charges. Acer claims a 15-second charge can give the stylus up to 90 minutes of use.
That aside, the notebook is powered by up to 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor coupled with up to 8GB of RAM, Intel Iris Plus Graphics and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD.
Pricing and availability
The Acer Spin 3 is offered in two configurations:
- Intel Core i5 (+ Intel Iris Plus Graphics), 8GB RAM + 512GB PCIe NVMe – MYR3,199
- Intel Core i3 (+ Intel UHD), 4GB RAM + 512GB PCIe NVMe – MYR2,699
Both variants will be available starting March at all Acer Concept Stores and Acer Official Online Stores, as well as selected Acer Official Resellers.
As a limited time promotion, the first five buyers of any variant will receive an Urbanista Sydney portable Bluetooth speaker worth MYR219.
Each unit is covered by two years limited warranty.
