Unexpected: Harvey Norman’s self-branded Charge Plus 2-in-1 notebook

Harvey Norman Charge Plus

A Harvey Norman notebook? I know right. But yes, it’s true. The renowned IT and consumer electronics retailer has partnered Intel and Microsoft to release its very own 2-in-1 notebook called the Charge Plus.

If you’re in the market for a budget notebook, the Charge Plus should be a decent and versatile workhorse. Being a 2-in-1 device, you’ll be able to use it as a full-fledged notebook or detach the keyboard and use it as a tablet.

The Charge Plus is powered by the quad-core Intel Atom Z8300 “Cherry Trail” processor, coupled with 2GB RAM DDR3L and 64GB on-board flash storage. If you need more storage, you’ll be able to expand via microSD.

Connectivity-wise, there’s micro-USB 2.0 and micro-USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

The 11.6-inch display notebook comes bundled with Microsoft Office 365 (one year) and language translator Dewan Eja as standard.

The Charge Plus comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty with an option to extend it by up to four years.

As a special promotion, Harvey Norman is offering free screen warranty care, a Logitech Bluetooth mouse M337, Bayern Dynamic earphones, 750GB WD Elements HDD external drive and Kingmax microSD 32GB card with every purchase of the 2-in-1 notebook. This offer (worth MYR1,096) is limited to the first 500 units only.

I can’t see a reason not to take up this offer.
