What’s Malaysian to you? What’s a typical Malaysian trait? What’s considered “Malaysian”? Is it food? The overabundance of public holidays? How about traffic jams? If anything, Malaysians are an expressive lot—whether it’s raving about the latest boba tea or relentlessly ranting about daily bad traffic jam.
A couple of months ago, I posted about Snap Inc.’s The Friendship Report, which explored how people around the world approach friendship. Interestingly, visual languages such as Bitmoji help people to express themselves in a way they can’t with mere words. Or Bitmoji being “universal” so to speak, is useful when people don’t speak the same language.
The same study found Malaysians to be among the friendliest people in the world, which can be attributed to our true multicultural society and unique shared experiences that make us truly Malaysian.
With that, Snapchat has created six Bitmoji that represent typical Malaysian scenarios. Go ahead and express yourself, lah!
If you’re not already on Snapchat, download for iOS or Android to create your very own Bitmoji!
