Things in the gaming space are definitely hotting up. Samsung has officially entering the fray with the launch of the sexy CFG70 Gaming Monitor. It’s the first curved gaming monitor featuring Samsung’s famed Quantum Dot technology.
Thanks to Quantum Dot, the CFG70, available in 24-inch and 27-inch variants, delivers outstanding colour across 125% of the sRGB spectrum. It boasts a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and a superfast 1ms moving picture response time (MPRT).
Samsung has combined its advanced motion blur reduction technology with its VA panel. This coupled with the brilliantly fast 1ms MPRT reduces display transitions and eliminates potential visual distractions.
Another important element in gaming monitors is the support for Adaptive Sync. The CFG70 has AMD FreeSync over HDMI to synchronise refresh rates with users’ AMD GPUs. Talking about refresh rates, the CFG70 supports up to 144Hz. This helps minimize image tearing, input latency and stutter, to ensure smooth gameplay.
In terms of design, the CFG70 looks stunning in matt black. Samsung calls the curved design – “Super Arena.” A combination of industry-best 1,800R curvature and 178-degree ultra-wide viewing angle. The monitor features a unique Dual-Hinge design that provides flexibility and customizability in terms of swivel and tilt. So, you’ll always find the best angle to suit you.
Samsung made the effort to develop a custom gaming interface for the CFG70 to allow for more easily-accessible game management. It includes an intuitive settings dashboard, and the monitor itself has a series of hotkeys on the front and back of the display.
The Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) recently honoured the CFG70 for its advanced gaming interface and convenience-driving composition.
