OPPO F7: The ultimate selfie weapon hits Malaysia for MYR1,399


If selfies are your thing, then the perfect kit is here. The much-touted AI-powered OPPO F7 is in town. Just launched with much fanfare and with the presence of official ambassadors Hebe Tien and Neelofa, the OPPO F7 will be available for purchase starting 21 April 2018.

The OPPO F7 boasts a massive 25MP f/2.0 selfie camera, enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI).

Its AI capabilities are thanks to the latest 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. The chip is MediaTek’s most intelligent to date, boasting NeuroPilot AI technology with onboard face detection and AI-enhanced smart imaging and video.

The OPPO F7’s front camera maps up to 296 facial feature spots, 20 percent more than its predecessor, the OPPO F5.

What’s interesting is that it also beautification for different facial zones, including the T zone (forehead and nose), eyes and U zone (cheeks and chin).

Like the Huawei P20, the OPPO F7 also has intelligent scene detection, so it will know if you’re shooting food, pets, portraits and more, and will optimise the shot accordingly.

The device rocks an expansive 6.23-inch FHD+ display (2280×1080) with a unique 19:9 screen aspect ratio. Unsurprisingly, there’s a notch.

There are two variants of the OPPO F7, although the standard is available first. It comes in either 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage, or 6GB RAM + 128GB of storage.

Colours available are Moonlight Silver, Solar Red and special Diamond Black. The higher end OPPO F7 128GB offers a Sunset Red and Diamond Black.

The device pack a 3,400mAh battery that charges up via micro-USB. It runs the latest ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Pricing and availability

The OPPO F7 retails for MYR1,399 and will be available starting 21 April at its roadshow at Sunway Pyramid, Kuala Lumpur.

OPPO opened the pre-order books from 16 April and will end on 20 April 2018. Pre-order customers stand to take home a mystery gift box worth MYR299.
