Microsoft is taking its “tablet that can replace your notebook” claim seriously with the Surface Pro 3 by offering up to US$650 of Microsoft Store credit to MacBook Air owners who trade-up for a Surface Pro 3. The promotion runs between 20 June to 31 July 2014.

The new Surface Pro 3 was heavily compared with the MacBook Air during the Surface Pro 3 press event, with the Microsoft tablet coming up tops in terms of weight and thinness. The 12-inch Surface Pro 3 features a sleek magnesium body and runs Intel’s latest 4th generation Core processors.

The promotion is limited to select Microsoft retail stores in the US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada, and not valid online.

The trade-in device must be in working condition (able to power on). Caveat: trade-in value may vary depending on condition, documentation and accessories of the MacBook Air.
