Maxis postpaid plans get up to 3x free data upgrade

Maxis postpaid plan upgrade

Maxis postpaid customers are in for a pleasant surprise. The telco is upgrading all Maxis postpaid (formerly MaxisOne) plans, arming them with up to two times the original monthly data quota, at no extra cost to the customer. The annoying weekday-weekend data split has also been scrapped.

I received the notification about the free upgrade via an SMS this afternoon. This upgrade is automatic and permanent.

I currently have two principal lines—Maxis Postpaid 128 and MP 98 (recently downgraded from MOP 188 and MOP 128) with a total of three shared lines. For Maxis Postpaid 128, my monthly data quota has been bumped up from 40GB all-day to 60GB all-day data. Shared lines under this account are allocated 30GB of data, up from 10GB (all-day) + 10GB (personal) previously.

On the other hand, my Maxis Postpaid 98 has been upgraded from 20GB all-day + 10GB weekend to 40GB all-day data.

Exclusively for Sabah and Sarawak customers, the Maxis Postpaid 68 plan now enjoys 30GB all-day data, an upgrade from 15GB all-day.

Good news is in store for tablet users too as the Tablet 28 plan which originally comes with 10GB of data, has now been tripled to 30GB.

The upgrade process will take place between 4 to 10 June 2020. Customers will be notified by SMS once the upgrade is completed. During the upgrade period, no change of share limit quota between family lines or change of rate plans will be allowed.

New subscribers will enjoy the new upgraded plans starting 4 June 2020.
