Huawei Y6p brings big battery, screen for just MYR559

Huawei Y6p

Huawei today released the Huawei Y6p—an entry-level that’s light on the wallet but offers big features in time for the Hari Raya festivities.

Huawei Y6p

The Huawei Y6p’s standout feature is the massive 5,000mAh battery that will ensure the device does not run out of juice when you taking family pics, making TikTok videos, or playing games. It can even reverse-charge, meaning it can help rescue your family’s phones that are low on juice.

Surprisingly, at its price point, the Huawei Y6p is armed with a 13MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth camera. On the front, you’ll find an 8MP selfie camera that’s also great for video calls.

Under the hood, the device runs on a MediaTek MTK6765 processor with ample 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. To top it off, Huawei is throwing in 15GB of free cloud storage for 12 months.

The phone comes in three different colourways: Emerald Green, Phantom Purple, and Midnight Black.

Huawei Y5p

Next in line is the Huawei Y5p, offering 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and a 5.45-inch HD display. It is offered in Phantom Blue, Midnight Black, and Mint Green.

Keeping it juiced is a large 3,020mAh battery. In terms of optics, the Huawei Y5p packs an 8MP HD rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter.

Pricing and availability

The Huawei Y6p and Y5p are priced at MYR559 and MYR359 respectively. They are available for purchase at all Huawei Experience Stores, Huawei official retail stores, and Huawei’s online store from 16 May 2020 onwards.

In conjunction with Hari Raya, Huawei is giving AppGallery users a “Raya packet” where they can enjoy 50 per cent rebate when making select in-app purchases on the Huawei AppGallery.
