Huawei nova 2i gets EMUI 8.0 and Android 8.0 update

After a month of user beta-testing, EMUI 8.0 Oreo is now ready for Huawei nova 2i users. The OTA update will be available to all Huawei nova 2i users progressively.

EMUI 8.0 and Android 8.0 deliver a faster, smarter and more powerful experience overall for nova 2i users. It has 2x the boot speed and also allows users to multi-task via multi-windows to improve productivity.

There’s plenty more new enhancements to enjoy of course.

EMUI 8.0 is a lot smarter, able to predict your intentions and provide you intelligent recommendations to a function you need.

There’s a navigation dock where you can place a home button freely on the screen, alongside the shortcut dock. You can also launch a shortcut menu, drag and drop to create a desktop shortcut for quick access.

Through machine learning, EMUI allocates resources dynamically to provide more CPU memory to apps that you use the most. This helps to deliver a snappier, smoother experience.

Low memory management actively rearranges memory space to reduce fragmentation, and it compresses memory to save space for more important apps.

The nova 2i is a steal at MYR1,099 – a killer quad-camera smartphone that boasts a premium build and some top notch specs. It’s a compelling buy and one of the best in its price segment.

The device previously received software updates that gave it Face Unlock and AR lens.
