This is the Huawei Mate 30 Pro in full glory

Huawei Mate 30 Pro leak

The Huawei Mate 30 series is set to make a global debut on 19 September, and as usual there has been a slew of image and spec leaks. Huawei’s flagship device is undeniably the last big device launch of the year after the recent Galaxy Note10 and iPhone 11. All eyes are on the Huawei Mate 30, and its pronounced circular camera bump.

Thanks to prolific serial leakster Ice Universe on Twitter, there are no new leaked images of the Mate 30 Pro. They’re not renders or official promo images mind you, but the actual, physical product in hand.

The label and UI indicate that it’s a China-bound set. It sports a glossy, metallic purple hue with the massive camera bump on the rear. It reminds me of the Lumia 1520, albeit with a set of four cameras.

Speaking of which, it is speculated that the quad-cam setup will consist of a 40MP main sensor + 40MP ultra-wide angle + 8MP telephoto + ToF camera combination. It is widely believed that the 40MP main shooter with 1/1.7-inch sensor will feature an aperture of f/1.4 to f/1.6 while the secondary 40MP shooter will pack a 1/1.7-inch sensor with a 120-degree FOV lens. The telephoto is said to be capable of 5X optical zoom, similar to the P30 Pro.

Huawei is expected to reveal the Huawei Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30 Lite, and Porsche Design Mate 30 RS in Munich this Thursday, 19 September 2019. Stay tuned for details from the global launch.
