Just a month after its Malaysian debut, honor Play – honor’s first gaming-focused smartphone is getting a special edition. Called honor Play – Player Edition, it’s everything you love about the original except it comes in a limited edition box packed with goodies.
The honor Play – Player Edition retails for MYR1,299, a slight bump from the original when it first launched, at MYR1,249.
You’ll find an Ipega 9087 Controller as well as exclusive PUBG stickers in the limited edition box.
The Player Edition has exactly what the standard honor Play offers, except that it features a chipboard-motif back with a unibody metal design.
It comes with a 16MP f/2.0 front-facing camera with AI Portait and 3D Portrait Lighting, while on the rear it’s a 16MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 dual-camera setup with AI-assisted features.
Keeping the device juiced is a large 3,750mAh battery and it runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
It boosts graphics processing by up to 60 percent while reducing energy consumption by 30 percent compared to the Kirin 960. GPU Turbo has already rolled out to honor 10, Huawei nova 3 and nova 3i, and will roll out to other devices with Kirin 970 and Kirin 710 chipsets.
Honor Play also delivers an AI-enabled Smart Shock 4D experience – adding more immersive “dual-shock” vibrating effects to gameplay.
It also has 3D audio effects delivered by the combination of its bottom-firing speaker and earpiece.
Aside from the black Player Edition, the honor Play is also available in Midnight Black, Navy Blue and Ultraviolet.
