It looks like honor’s brand new flagship smartphone – honor 10 – has been selling like hot cakes. The affordable feature-packed smartphone saw over one million units sold within days. Shopee says the honor 10 is the fastest-selling flagship phone on its platform to date. The phone went on sale starting 24 May.
Sold at just MYR1,599 (SRP: MYR1,699), the honor 10 has hit the right notes with Malaysians, offering tremendous value while packing the best hardware.
The shiny device is impeccably crafted, featuring an industry-first layering technique that sees 15 layers of individually coloured glass that it calls “Aurora Glass.” The phone has an ever-changing aurora sheen that glistens in Phantom Blue, Glacier Grey and Midnight Black. Honor is said to bring the Phantom Green colour option at a later date.
As a quick recap, the honor 10 sports a 5.84-inch FullView 2.0 FHD+ display with a notch and 19:9 screen aspect ratio.
Underneath, the device features the best Huawei silicon – the 10nm octa-core Kirin 970 which comes with a built-in NPU.
The chip is mated to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The device boasts strong cameras – a 24MP + 16MP dual-camera system with f/1.8 aperture lenses on the rear. The cameras are AI-assisted, boasting an industry-first Semantic Image Segmentation technology that can identify multiple objects within a single image and optimises them individually.
The front is a massive 24MP selfie shooter, which comes with Beautify, bokeh (depth of field) and AR lenses.
Security-wise, the honor boasts an Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor located under the glass at the front of the phone. As an alternative, there’s also Face Unlock.
Keeping things juiced is a 3,400mAh battery that charges up via USB Type-C. Huawei includes a Super Charge power brick in the box.
The honor 10 runs EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
