Vivo’s flagship X21, boasting the cutting-edge In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology, will officially debut in Malaysia on 5 June 2018. It is one of the very first devices in the world to sport under-glass biometric authentication.

In China, the X21 comes in two flavours – the standard X21 that retails at CNY3,298 (MYR2,041) and the X21 UD, with under-display fingerprint sensor, that retails for CNY3,698 (MYR2,288). The China smartphone maker also rolled out a special Black Gold Edition on 19 April, which features luxurious touches to its exterior.

The X21 rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE chip under the hood, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Pretty beefy specs by any standards.

It comes with a 6.28-inch FHD+ FullView Display, housed in a sleek, curvy metal and glass body.

In the optics department, the X21 carries a dual-camera setup – 12MP f/1.8 + 5MP f/2.4 shooters on the rear. With a pixel size of 1.28 micron pixel, the X21 should do well in low light conditions. Performance is also enhanced with AI HDR that ensures photos are optimally exposed even in harsh conditions.

The front shooter is a commendable 12MP f/2.0 unit with AI Face Beauty and an integrated IR fill light that allows for fast Face Wake 2.0 with 3D mapping.

The X21 comes with an inbuilt 3,200mAh battery that supports fast charging, and it runs Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
