Facebook, Instagram worldwide outage

After Google experiencing a global outage on Tuesday, it’s Facebook’s turn to face connectivity issues today. Both Facebook and Instagram users are reporting loss of access to the world’s largest social networks. The source of the outage has yet to be determined.

Users have reported over Twitter that they could not access Facebook and Instagram or had limited functionality.

“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” Facebook said in a statement.

Facebook confirmed that the outage was not due to a DDoS attack.

According to downdetector.com, outages were heaviest in North America and Europe.

I can confirm that I’m also experiencing issues with both Facebook and Instagram since this morning in Malaysia.
