Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp go down

Images not loading in Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp? You’re not alone. It seems that Facebook and its suite of services are experiencing another global outage. And the netizens are flipping.

Images on Instagram are not loading on the feed, and the same applies to Instagram Stories.

UPDATE: Instagram has acknowledged the issue and are working on a fix.

New photos and photos within links on Facebook are not showing up either.

In WhatsApp, images sent by recipients cannot be loaded or downloaded, with errors notifying users of the problem.

There’s a spike of complaints reported on downdetector.com for all three platforms (including Facebook Messenger) from across the globe, primarily in the US, South America, Japan, UK and central Europe.

Unconfirmed reports have put the blame on Facebook’s CDN going down.

Users have taken to Twitter to air their grouses about the outage.

This is the fourth major outage affecting Facebook’s social media platforms since November 2018. The biggest outage was in March where it affected millions of people. Downdetector processed about 7.5 million problem reports from end users over the course of the incident.
