EMUI 10.1 rolls out for Honor View20, Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro

Honor has rolled out the latest EMUI 10.1 OTA update to the Honor View20, Honor 20, and Honor 20 Pro. Based on Android 10, the latest update brings new features and improvements to enhance user experience including Huawei MeeTime, Huawei’s proprietary video calling application, and Smart Multi-Window, a multi-tasking mode for enhanced productivity. The update is expected to the Honor 9X Pro in September.

Leading the way of the new update is Huawei MeeTime, Huawei’s very own video calling application. The video calling app delivers high-quality video calls, even in low light or poor network conditions. It also comes with an AI-assisted Make Up feature to soften your skin tone when you’re in front of the camera.

Next, Smart Multi-Window allows you to multi-task by displaying two different apps in separate views simultaneously. You can activate split-screen view by simply touch and holding one of the windows, as well as drag and drop images, text or even files across windows.

In an extension of that, you can take advantage of the multi-screen collaboration with one-touch—whether opening a webpage or editing files on your phone using PC apps.

The EMUI 10.1 update also delivers more responsive and consistent performance. The Deterministic Latency Engine reduces system response time by 20.8 per cent and average latency fluctuation by 10.5 per cent.

Lastly, the update brings enhanced privacy and security. Local data is fully encrypted while cloud data is encrypted during transmission and storage for data security.

Android 10 brings many new features and enhancements including Live Caption, Smart Reply, gesture navigation, a new Dark theme, enhanced privacy and security features, as well as tools to balance your digital life.
