CODE FRIDAY – Pernod Ricard Malaysia’s Global Responsible Drinking Campaign

Have you ever lost someone or know someone who has gotten involved in a serious road accident because of drunk driving? I certainly have. Going over the permitted limit isn’t something to be taken lightly about. In the US, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 33,808 people died in traffic crashes in 2009, including an estimated 10,839 people who were killed in drunk driving crashes involving a driver with an illegal Blood Alcohol Level – BAC (.08 or greater). In an effort to promote responsible drinking, Pernod Ricard Malaysia (PRM) is launching their global Responsible Drinking campaign today – Friday, September 30, 2011.

The global Pernod Ricard stance is to promote responsible drinking on 5 fronts:

  1. Advocating Moderation
  2. Avoiding Drink-Driving
  3. Making Young-People aware of the risks linked to alcohol
  4. Dissuading Pregnant women from drinking
  5. Making Staff aware of their responsibility
