Get a Galaxy S20 from as low as MYR249 with Celcom

Fresh off the Samsung Unpacked event in San Francisco, it has taken no time at all for the new Galaxy S20 flagship series to reach Malaysian shores. Samsung Malaysia is currently running pre-orders for the device, while retailers like Senheng and telcos such as Digi have jumped onboard to offer affordable ownership plans. Celcom, one of the “Big Three,” is offering the Galaxy S20 from as low as MYR249 per month under its EasyPhone device ownership programme. Read on for details.

If you’ve noticed, Celcom has revamped its postpaid plan offerings. Gone are the Celcom Postpaid Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus plans of yesteryears. They’ve been superceded by the recently-launched Mega Postpaid plans with various internet passes.

As a whole, Celcom is offering the entire Galaxy S20 line-up: Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G.

There are two ways to own the new Galaxy S20—via the EasyPhone programme or a regular device bundle. The advantage of the owning it with EasyPhone is a low barrier of entry with zero upfront fee. All you need to do is pay for the phone’s monthly instalment and mobile plan dues all-in. With a device bundle, you’ll need to fork out the subsidised device cost upfront before paying for the monthly plan.

Either way, you’ll receive a free Galaxy Buds+ worth MYR499 if you pre-order from now until 26 February 2020 (while stocks last).

Here is a breakdown of the plans/bundles:

Galaxy S20

EasyPhone

You can take home the Galaxy S20 (128GB) from MYR99 per month with a Celcom Mega XL Pass. The base Mega plan is MYR80 per month, while the Lightning XL Pass will set you back an additional MYR108.

The base plan gives you 30GB of monthly high-speed internet, unlimited calls to all networks and text messages are charged at MYR0.20 per SMS. With the Lightning XL Pass, you’ll get a whopping 100GB of internet data per month, for an monthly all-in commitment of MYR287.

The most affordable option would be the Mega plan plus Lightning M Pass (MYR18) which will give you a total of 40GB of internet data per month, at a monthly all-in commitment of MYR249.

Device bundle

More traditional bundles are available where the base Mega plan is bundled with upfront payment for the device and plans. Depending on which Pass you opt for, device prices range from MYR1,848 (Lightning XL) and MYR2,248 (Lightning L) to MYR2,548 (Lightning M).

Note that there is upfront payment for the plan, which is rebated in the first bill. This ranges from MYR950 (Lightning XL) and MYR550 to MYR250.

Monthly payment for each plan is MYR188, MYR148 and MYR98 respectively.

Galaxy S20+

With the Galaxy S20+ (128GB), you can take one home with Lightning XL Pass at MYR306 per month, Lightning L Pass at MYR298, or Lightning M Pass at MYR268. These are all-in prices that include the monthly device instalment, Mega plan and Pass.
