ASUS Malaysia together with AMD has introduced a wide range of Ryzen-powered notebooks to the Malaysian market. The new notebooks comprise the ROG Zephyrus G (GA502), the premium gaming notebook; ASUS TUF Gaming FX505 for budget-conscious gamers; ASUS VivoBook Ultra A412ZenBook Flip 14 (UM462), the versatile everyday notebook for consumers., the compact, ultralight notebook; and stunning ZenBook Flip 14 (UM462), the versatile everyday notebook for consumers.
Zephyrus G (GA502)
The ASUS Zephyrus G makes ultra slim gaming a reality, now pairing a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q graphics with a quad-core AMD Ryzen 7-3750H APU (2.3GHz, up to 4.0GHz). This combo is mated to 8GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB of PCIe NVMe M2. SSD storage.
The GeForce GPU is clocked up to 1335MHz at 60W with ROG Boost.
The notebook comes with an anti-glare 15.6-inch FHD IPS Panel that boasts 120Hz refresh rate.
Easily connect up to two external displays via HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort over USB-C. It comes equipped with 802.11ac 2×2 Wave 2 WLAN and Bluetooth 5.0.
Offered in a single Metal colour option, the Zephyrus G retails at MYR4,999 and will be available in early July. An exclusive bundle will be available on Shopee’s ASUS Store.
ASUS TUF FX505
For those on a tighter budget, the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505 range of gaming notebooks is a perfect option. Pairing the latest Ryzen mobile APUs with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 graphics, this value gaming notebook line delivers high-performance gaming at accessible prices.
The TUF Gaming FX505 features an anti-glare 15.6-inch IPS display that boasts a 120Hz screen refresh rate.
CPU options include the baseline Ryzen 5-3550H (2.1GHz), up to the Ryzen 7-3750H (2.3GHz) with graphics options ranging from GeForce GTX1050, GTX1650, GTX1660Ti, up to the top-of-the-line RTX2060.
Two RAM slots provide a base 4GB or 8GB of 2666Mhz DDR4 memory, coupled with a PCIe NVMe 512GB M.2 SSD.
All models come with a two-year global warranty with availability starting from early- to mid-June.
Prices start from MYR2,899 up to MYR5,199.
ASUS VivoBook Ultra A412
For a more mainstream solution, the VivoBook Ultra A412 is a compact, ultralight and slim notebook that comes in three gorgeous colours. There’s Transparent Silver and Slate Grey, alongside iridescent Peacock Blue.
The notebook features the famed NanoEdge display design—bezels are only 5.7 mm thin, giving it a screen-to-body ratio of up to 87 percent. Thanks to ultra-narrow bezels, the notebook manages to squeeze 14 inches of screen real estate into a 13-inch chassis.
The display pushes FHD resolution (1920×1080) with a 16:9 screen aspect ratio. It’s anti-glare and offers 200 nits of peak brightness and 45 percent NTSC.
The device boasts the new NumberPad—a large Windows Precision Touchpad with multi-gesture support. In the absence of a dedicated numeric keyboard, the NumberPad turns into an LED-illuminated keypad at a touch of a finger.
Also, a fingerprint sensor built into the touchpad gives you one-touch access to Windows Hello.
There’s also a full-size backlit keyboard with 1.3mm key travel for comfortable typing.
Seen on previous VivoBooks, the ErgoLight hinge provides more comfortable typing by tilting the keyboard when the notebook is opened.
The VivoBook Ultra A412 features a 37Wh lithium-polymer battery that is claimed to deliver all-day battery life, 3X longer than standard lithium-ion batteries. Fast-charge technology enables the notebook to charge from low battery to 60 percent charge in just 49 minutes.
The notebook comes powered by the AMD Ryzen 5-3500U processor, coupled with AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 Graphics and mated to 4GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. There’s an additional slot for a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD.
The VivoBook Ultra A412 retails for MYR2,199 and is available now.
ASUS ZenBook Flip 14 (UM462)
For ultimate versatility, the ASUS ZenBook Flip 14 features the unique 360–degree ErgoLift hinge design. The hinge design enables silky-smooth, stepless action that can hold the display securely at any angle—so you can use it in notebook, tablet, stand or tent modes.
The hinge is torture-tested with 20,000 open/close cycles to ensure long-term reliability and durability. The ErgoLift hinge also tilts the keyboard to a comfortable typing angle when the notebook is opened beyond 135 degrees.
Like the VivoBook, the ZenBook Flip 14 also features the frameless NanoEdge display, boasting ultra-narrow bezels on all sides and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The 14-inch FHD display (1920×1080) pushes 300 nits of brightness and delivers 72 percent of the NTSC colour gamut.
The notebook also features a world-facing camera, designed specifically for use with mixed-reality applications.
Similarly, the ZenBook packs a NumberPad, the large glass-covered Windows Precision Touchpad with multi-gesture support.
Under the hood, the notebook features the latest quad-core AMD Ryzen R5-3500U processor, coupled with AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics, 8GB of RAM and lightning-fast 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage.
