Yes, according to IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin, as reported by Forbes. The 16-inch MacBook Pro is slated for a fall release.
In its “IHS Markit Q1 ‘19 Mobile PC Market Tracker” the future MacBook Pro is described to having a “new display size (16 inch), new macOS (Catalina) and CPU.”
It is said the new notebook will opt for a 3072×1920 resolution LCD, not an OLED display, made by LG. The current MacBook Pro line maxes out at 15.4-inch (2880×1800) resolution.
The last time Apple made a notebook larger than 15-inch was the 17-inch MacBook Pro that was discontinued in 2012.
After updating the MacBook Pro line last month, its most powerful ever, IHS Markit analyst Lin expects the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro to receive processor upgrades in September.
No word on the 12-inch MacBook (is it dead?) that was last updated more than two years ago.
