AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Mobile to power ultra-thin business notebooks

AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Mobile Processor

AMD has released the world’s first x86 7nm commercial notebook processors—the AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Mobile family. With up to eight cores and 16 threads, they are fully optimised for remote work and modern productivity. HP and Lenovo are expected to roll out robust enterprise designs powered by the new processors starting in the first half of 2020.

The Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Mobile Processors are built on the ground-breaking Zen 2 architecture and 7nm process technology, delivering advanced performance, reliable security features, impressive battery life, and easy manageability.

The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U headlines the new series, the fastest business processor for ultra-thin business notebooks—at 15W TDP and with up to eight cores and 16 threads. This lethal combination delivers up to 33 per cent better-multithreaded performance compared to the competition.

That’s not all, the new chip is also more power-efficient, delivering up to 37 per cent better overall performance in Microsoft Office apps over the previous generation.

Adding to that, the new chipset delivers up to 2x performance per watt over its predecessor and up to 20+ hours of battery life.

Taking on Intel’s vPro, the PRO-exclusive features ensure data is kept safe, easy manageability, and long-term reliability.

This includes AMD PRO security—a multi-layered approach embedding defences at every level—from silicon through operating system and system-level security features. AMD Memory Guard, exclusive to the new PRO chipset, aids data and identity protection.

AMD Ryzen PRO processors offer a full manageability feature set including full support for Microsoft EndPoint Manager to deliver a flexible and integrated cloud management solution.

The enterprise-grade ready processor platform boasts 18 months of planned software stability timeline and 24 months of planned availability.

Powering new generation of business notebooks

Thanks to the new PRO series, HP is expanding its portfolio of business notebooks. Coming soon is the new HP ProBook 445 G7 and HP ProBook 455 G7, to complement the HP ProBook X360 435 G7 business convertible notebook revealed earlier this year.

Lenovo is also updating its latest ThinkPad portfolio with the new AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Mobile Processors.
