The new Acer Spin 3 with a slimmer profile and totting the 10th Gen Intel Core processor is in Malaysia. The versatile notebook comes with an Acer Active Stylus and a unique 360-degree hinge that adapts to different use cases, whether for work, education, or play.
The Spin 3 is powered by up to the 10th Gen Intel Core i5 with Intel Iris Plus Graphics. Weighing just 1.5kg and measuring 16.9mm thick, the device offers uncompromising performance and portability.
In terms of storage, the device comes with a 512GB PCIe NVMe Gen3 m.2 SSD. The 14-inch IPS display offers FHD resolution and battery life is claimed to be up to 16 hours.
Connectivity-wise, the device supports Wi-Fi 6 (2×2 MU-MIMO) and Bluetooth 5.0 and offers various expansion ports including USB Type-C (Thunderbolt 3), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.0 port, microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Acer Active Stylus uses Wacom AES (active electrostatic) technology, boasting 4,096 levels of pressure. It replicates actual ink and is perfect for writing, drawing, and taking notes. When not in use, the stylus can be neatly stored in a quick-charge storage dock on the Spin 3 chassis.
Audio enthusiasts will appreciate the device’s dual front-facing speakers that’s enhanced by True Harmony and optimised DTS Audio.
Pricing and availability
The Acer Spin 3 retails for MYR3,299 for the Intel Core i5 model with 8GB RAM, while the Core i3 model with 4GB RAM is priced at MYR2,799. Both models are available at Acer’s Official Online Store and all official and certified stores on Shopee starting 13 May 2020.
The notebook is covered by two years local warranty.
As part of a pre-order promotion that runs from 13-15 May 2020, the first customers for each variant of the Spin 3 will receive gifts worth up to MYR1,024. This includes Acer Supercare 2 extended warranty (worth MYR339) that offers 3-years onsite warranty as well as protection against accidental damage and theft. Not forgetting an Acer Wireless Slim Mouse, Acer USB 2.0 Portable DVD writer, Bluetooth speaker, Acer Entry backpack, and Predator Cap.
