Hot on the heels of the global Windows 10 launch, Acer is first off the blocks to bring a device pre-installed with the new operating system to Malaysia. The Acer Aspire R 11 is a compact 11.6-inch convertible with a 360-degree hinge, the latest addition to the Acer convertible family.
The Aspire R 11 demonstrates Acer’s first-to-market speed in bringing new innovations to consumer hands. Acer said that its current range of products are Windows 10-ready, and the upcoming Aspire E series will ship with Windows 10.
The Acer Aspire R 11 features a fabric-textured exterior is scratch-resistant and provides a firm grip. The bright 11.6-inch HD TFT LCD touch screen (1366×768) features Acer’s Zero Air Gap technology that delivers a more vibrant viewing experienced. For the first time on notebooks, the Aspire R 11 sports Corning Gorilla Glass for extra protection. A special anti-fingerprint coating keeps the screen smudge-free.
The unique selling proposition of the Aspire R 11 is the 360-degre dual torque hinge design that lets the notebook transform into four modes – notebook, pad, display and tent. What’s cool is that the audio channel output will automatically reverse based on screen orientation.
Powering the versatile notebook is quad-core Intel Pentium N3700 chip with Intel HD Graphics. This is mated to 4GB of DDR3L RAM (max of 8GB). It comes integrated with USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI port, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and SD card reader. Storage tops 500GB. Battery life is rated at 3220mAh, delivering up to 8 hours of use.
Acer TrueHarmony delivers life-like audio regardless of your entertainment needs. The speakers uses a paper diaphragm construction that provides maximum clarity, volume and a wider range of bass with minimal distortion.
If you’re on your notebook for long hours, Acer BluelightShield will protect your eyes from possibly damaging blue light. It reduces eye strain by reducing blue light emission through three modes – Low reduction, High reduction and Long Hour Mode.
The Aspire R 11 is Skype Certified, meeting high audio and visual standards required for optimal Skype communication.
The notebook comes with Acer Touch Tools that allows you to capture, collect, write and share screen data with a touch of a finger. Accuracy is enhanced thanks to Precision Touchpad (PTP) technology, coupled with palm rejection technology.
Pricing and availability
The new Acer Aspire R 11 retails at RM1,499 and is available at all major Authorised Acer Resellers nationwide.
