Apple has sold over 10 million new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models, just three days after the big launch on 19 September. The sales feat is a new record for the Cupertino giant. The two bigger iPhones are available in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK.

The new dynamic duo also hit 4 million in sales in the first 24 hours.

A happy Tim Cook said, “Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier. He continued, “While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.

Apple is making the new phones available in 20 additional countries on 26 September, and subsequently will be available in 115 countries by the end of the year.

According to ad impression data by Chitika, the adoption rate for the iPhone 6 is more than 7x higher than that of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. Stocks of the bigger iPhone have been reportedly scarce.
