I always had the opinion that every true petrolhead should have a Porsche, Alfa Romeo and BMW M3 in their garage. I’m in fact, one third of my way there. My dream Porsche 911 GT3 though, is a little way off still. However, there is a glimmer of hope. Porsche Design has a drool-worthy 911 Soundbar that can deliver me aural orgasms while I continue to save up for the real thing for my driveway.
Porsche Design Studio needs little introduction. The legendary design studio designs and makes beautiful products that make men and women cream—from timepieces, to phones, to a luxury yacht and to… well, cars.
The 911 Soundbar is outrageous. Converted from the original rear silencer and twin exhaust from a 911 GT3, it delivers 2.1 virtual surround sound and features Bluetooth 3.0 wireless audio (lossless via aptX technology).
The 200W system performance is backed by DTS TruSurround virtual surround signal processing and a Dolby digital decoder.
There’s a built-in LED display and even features a LipSync function for precise voice synchronization.
Connection-wise, there’s analogue input, 2x digital inputs (coaxial and optical) as well as subwoofer output.
Expect some very powerful sound. And some impressed guests.
Pricing and availability
