Galaxy Fold sells out on first day of pre-order

Looks like the Galaxy Fold’s entry into Malaysia has gone off to an explosive start. The futuristic device has been completely sold out on the first day of pre-order sales, as excited customers thronged participating Samsung Experience Stores and chain store retailers nationwide to be among the first in the country to own the device.

The refined Galaxy Fold is what Samsung calls “a new kind of device.” It’s compact and pocketable when you want it to be, but opens up a whole new experience when you unfold it.

On the front is a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Display and when you’re game for a more immersive visual experience, you’ll be treated to a 7.3-inch QXGA Dynamic AMOLED Display Infinity Flex Display.

Samsung has packed the best hardware available into its ground-breaking device—a 7nm octa-core Exynos 9820 coupled with a mind-blowing 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

A massive 4,380mAh battery keeps the light on, supporting fast-charging via USB-C.

The new form factor and unique dual-screen experience are complemented by new UI tweaks and features. Samsung worked closely with developers like Google and Microsoft to enable apps to take advantage of the new displays.

The Galaxy Fold is priced at MYR8,388 and is available in two colour options: Cosmos Black and Space Silver.

For pre-orders, Samsung offers Samsung Galaxy Fold Premier Service which includes a 24/7 Premium Careline, free on-site pick-up and delivery for Service Support within 12 months of purchase. Customers also enjoy Priority/Express Lane at Service Centres and one screen protection (1-time inner screen crack replacement within 12 months of purchase).

If you’ve missed out on the pre-order, stay tuned for more updates to unfold from Samsung soon.

Samsung did not elaborate on how many units were put up for pre-order.
