Apple may be introducing (PRODUCT)RED versions of its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus early this week, according to a leaked Virgin Mobile memo. This is similar to what it did last March with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
The memo states that the new smartphone models will be added to Virgin Mobile’s inventory system on Monday, 9 April, coinciding with an announcement from Apple.
Virgin Mobile is expected to offer pre-orders for the devices, but it is unclear if the devices will be available immediately or shipping later.
Mark Gurman, reporter at Bloomberg News, a reliable source of Apple news, corroborated the story in a tweet.
Indeed should be this week. Nice scoop @rsgnl ??????? https://t.co/kdUxA2UzEp

Apple is rumoured to be unveiling a gold iPhone X, although this was not mentioned in the leaked memo.
Apple’s partnership with (RED) spans 11 years. (RED) is an initiative that supports HIV/AIDS programmes that provide counselling, testing and medicine that prevents the transmission of HIV from mother to her unborn child.
Every (RED) purchase contributes directly to the Global Fund to fight AIDS. So far, Apple has raised over USD160 million through the sale of (RED) products.
