OPPO F1 Plus “Selfie Expert” is open for pre-orders now

OPPO F1 Plus

Also known as the OPPO R9, the ‘Selfie Expert’ OPPO F1 Plus is now available for pre-order online and offline until 6 April 2016. The latest smartphone from OPPO is set to hit the stage on 7 April 2016 at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall.

The F1 Plus is a bigger, more powerful sibling of the F1. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, with a fingerprint sensor on the front.

Underneath, it gets a mid-range MediaTek Helio P10 (MTK6755) mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It’s the second fastest processor from MediaTek, with built-in Cat.6 LTE and HiFi audio performance.

True to its ‘Selfie Expert’ claim, the front camera is a 16MP f/2.0 whopper. Strangely, the rear main camera is a 13MP f/2.2 unit with PDAF.

In the design department, the F1 Plus resembles the F1, which isn’t a bad thing. It’s well put together and feels premium in the hand.

To pre-order, head over to the OPPO Malaysia online store. All you need is a non-refundable fee of MYR1 to lock in on the device.

You can also place a pre-order offline at authorized OPPO concept stores in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. For offline pre-orders though, a MYR200 is required as a deposit.

Pre-ordering does have its perks. OPPO is throwing in a selfie stick worth MYR49 with every pre-order made. Also, if you’re one of first 100 customers to complete your order on the day of launch, you’ll receive a Bluetooth headset worth MYR178.

Pre-orders officially start today and will run until 6 April 2016 at 6PM.

The price of the OPPO F1 Plus is still a mystery, but will be revealed at the day of launch, at 3.30PM.

I’ll be at the launch on Thursday, so keep your eyes peeled for updates.
