Nokia 5.1 Plus hits stores in Malaysia tomorrow

Nokia 5.1 Plus

Over a month ago, HMD Global introduced two new devices to the Malaysian market – the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus. The Nokia 6.1 Plus was available immediately at launch for MYR1,149 and starting tomorrow, you’ll be able to get your hands on the more affordable Nokia 5.1 Plus.

At first glance, you could mistake the Nokia 5.1 Plus for the Nokia 6.1 Plus because they do look identical. The giveaway is the slightly cheaper build although it’s still considered premium-built for its price point.

It features a polycarbonate frame wrapped in glass on both sides and the body houses a 5.8-inch HD+ display (720×1520), which is lower resolution than the Nokia 6.1 Plus.

In the area of optics, the device boasts a decent 13MP f/2.0 + 5MP dual-camera setup on the rear, enhanced with AI features including bokeh blur.

Like its more premium sibling, the Nokia 5.1 Plus runs Android One, based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is available in Gloss Black and Gloss Midnight Blue.
